If you have tickets for a Movistar Arena Buenos Aires show this 2026, you already know the pre-show can either be a slog or part of the night. Two hours early, plastic cups in a chain-cafeteria window, queueing for security with nothing else to do: no, thanks. Which is why we put together this guide. You'll find the complete Movistar Arena 2026 schedule from May through December, plus a concrete tip from someone who works four blocks away: SĀNTAL Chacarita, on Loyola 1599, is a four-block walk from the venue, stays open late and has a tapas, wine and cocktail menu built for warming up the night (or wrapping it up).
This piece is for two readers: the visitor who already has tickets and just wants to know where to drink before, and the visitor still scanning the calendar to pick a show. We've got both covered.

SĀNTAL Chacarita: tapas, wines and cocktails four blocks from the Arena
Full disclosure: we have skin in the game. SĀNTAL is a specialty-coffee group with three locations in Buenos Aires (Colegiales, Belgrano and Chacarita) and one in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The Chacarita branch sits at Loyola 1599, on the corner of Concepción Arenal — about four blocks on foot from Movistar Arena. Less than ten minutes at a relaxed pace, no avenue crossings, and you're at the venue door.
The café runs Tuesday to Sunday from 8am to 10pm and changes its programme as the day moves: specialty coffee and breakfast in the morning, brunch on weekends, weekday lunch, afternoon tea, and from 7pm — what matters for your concert plan — tapas, wines and cocktails.
On nights with a major Movistar Arena show (Soda Stereo, Rosalía, Robbie Williams, Calamaro, Babasónicos, Disney On Ice, Arjona) we extend service and reserve tables for the concert crowd. If you're going to a show, walk in beforehand, eat something, have a drink, and stroll the four blocks to the venue without the stress.
The 2-for-1 happy hour applies to the full drinks list: wine by the glass, vermouth, Aperol Spritz, gin & tonic, Fernet, Stella Artois on tap, and the Paso a Paso wine line (Malbec red, criolla rosé, criolla blanco). Walk in at 5pm and you'll close two cocktail rounds for the price of one, with twenty minutes to spare for the four-block walk to the venue.
What to order before the show
The SĀNTAL Chacarita tapas list is built for sharing, eating fast and well, and starting the night with momentum. These are the dishes that work best for the pre-show plan, pulled straight from the current menu:
SĀNTAL tapas list
- Milanesa sandwichThe Argentine breaded-veal classic — grain-mustard aioli, lettuce, tomato, red onion and crisp kale chips.
- Chicken wrapLettuce, parmesan, aioli and kale chips.
- Wild-mushroom sandwichRoasted oyster mushrooms, charred peppers, caramelised onion, rocket, parmesan, roasted-pepper aioli and kale chips.
- Mushroom risottoButton and portobello mushrooms, parmesan and herb pesto.
- Coconut-curry chickenRice, mild curry sauce with coconut, lime, ginger, coriander, peanuts and toasted sourdough.
- Braised-beef tacosCrisp tortillas, fresh coriander, lime and red onion.
- MeatballsTomato sauce, pesto, parmesan and a sourdough toast.
- Lentil stewLentils, roast beef, pumpkin, potato, spring onion and herbs — a winter favourite.
- Three beef empanadasWith a spicy grated-tomato dip — Argentina's national hand-pie.
- HummusHummus, paprika, olive oil and toasted pita.
Wines and cocktails
From the drinks list, the pre-show hits are wine by the glass, vermouth served the old way, Aperol Spritz, gin & tonic, Fernet (the bitter Italian-Argentine digestif typically mixed with cola — a porteño rite of passage) and Stella Artois on tap. If you're rolling deep, a full bottle of Paso a Paso works: Malbec red, criolla rosé or criolla blanco. Reminder: from 4pm to 8pm, everything goes 2-for-1.
How to time the pre-show by show start
Show at 9pm (most concerts)
Arrive at SĀNTAL between 6:30 and 7pm. Order two tapas to share (the braised-beef tacos and the wild-mushroom sandwich are a strong combo), an Aperol Spritz and a glass of wine — all inside the 2-for-1 window. Settle the bill at 8:30 and walk the four blocks. You'll beat the longest queue.
Show at 10pm (international tours: Robbie Williams, Rosalía, Bad Gyal)
You have time to sit. Reserve between 7:30 and 8pm, order something more substantial (mushroom risotto, milanesa, coconut-curry chicken) and a Fernet or gin & tonic inside the happy hour. Roll out around 9:30, easy.
Show at 7pm or 8pm (Disney On Ice and early sessions)
Better to come after. Disney On Ice runs afternoon sessions and dinner is the post-game: order light tapas (hummus, empanadas, chicken wrap) and a glass of wine to debrief the show with happy, tired kids. We close at 10pm, so timing works.
Four blocks: how to walk from Sāntal to Movistar Arena
From Loyola 1599, head toward Avenida Federico Lacroze. Turn right, walk a couple of blocks and the venue appears. Less than ten minutes at a normal pace, no major avenue crossings, wide and well-lit pavements. If you have lower-tier seats, you can also walk back to SĀNTAL after the show: on big-show nights we typically stay open late so you can close the night with a strong coffee, a glass of wine or something sweet — without fighting the queue at the venue's inside bar.
Reservations, groups and questions
We don't take reservations for tables of three or fewer, but we do for groups of four or more on big-show nights. Fastest way is via WhatsApp or DM on Instagram @santalcafe. Tell us which show you're going to and the start time — we'll help you map the timing, hold the table, and have your bill ready so you don't run late.
